This is the best place for dog walking. Although the state is landlocked, it has everything you need. Forest walks, beautiful countryside, lowlands, pretty chocolate box towns and villages.

Dog Friendly Spots In Lismore — Fetch Pet Resort

A 13-year-old Parson Russell/Collie cross and Gertie a 20-week-old Parson/Jack Russell cross.

Pops was seriously injured a few years ago, but still manages to work about an hour a day.

Meanwhile, Gertie is still a puppy, so I have a doggy bag to take her on long walks. I can’t let her miss our adventure!

Regatta has created a very clever dog exercise calculator that tells you how much time you should be walking your dog each day. If you want to check that your dog is getting the right amount of exercise for his breed, why not take a nosedive. It’s a really useful little tool and works great as a guide.

In my opinion, most good walks should include a cafe or watering hole somewhere along the way! You won’t be surprised to learn that many of our favorite walks include a stop for coffee and cake!

I know we cannot afford such a luxury under the current situation. But when the world returns to some kind of normalcy, we all want to find new places to visit with our canine friends.

I had to start with Lacock as it is my favorite place! Ten minutes away, it’s my hiking destination. I feel like I’m on vacation every time we go there, it really has a unique atmosphere like no other. My girls and I visit at least 3 times a week on average and never tire of its magic.

Steeped in history, Lacock Abbey is the birthplace of photography and was once the home of pioneering Victorian photographer William Henry Fox Talbot.

[It seems a little ironic since it’s my favorite place to take pictures of girls – I literally have hundreds!]

Wandering around the village is like stepping back 200 years. With cute chocolate houses and gift shops, plenty of bars and cafes, it’s a great place to spend an afternoon.

For a casual walk we park in the car park outside The Red Lion pub and walk through the fields around the monastery or on footpaths to distant pastures. Poppy loves to let the weather out on the river and have plenty of open fields for the girls to stretch their legs.

There are often sheep and sometimes cattle grazing here, but rarely every field, so the dogs always have a chance to get a good run.

Dog Friendly Cotswolds

There are many paths around the village so you can walk as much as you like. No matter where we go, we usually end up in a fort. Great for cleaning up after a muddy walk before heading home.

We usually can’t resist a stop at the National Trust Tea Rooms. They serve the best cheese scones ever and have indoor and outdoor seating for dogs. Even when alone with the girls, I usually stop and share a bite, even if it’s ice cream!

Castle Combe is only 20 minutes from Lacock. It is a place that holds many fond memories from childhood.

It’s only 10 minutes from the village of Hullington where I grew up, which truly embodies the English countryside. Cute honey-colored cottages line the main street and it’s no wonder it’s one of the prettiest villages in the country.

Are Dogs Allowed In Restaurants?

Like Lacock, it has been used as a setting for many period dramas, and you can see why.

There are several walks around Castle Combe. My favorite of them is about 6 km. For this walk we will park at a marked parking lot at the top of the village. The route takes you through the beautiful parkland of the golf course and then onto a scenic forest trail that runs alongside a babbling brook.

In wet weather, the road can be extremely muddy. But it’s perfect for summer, lots of shade and a chance for the girls to dip their feet in the water and cool off.

The circular walk takes about an hour and a half, is relaxing and offers a wonderful view of the valleys and surrounding landscape.

Canberra Dog Friendly Cafes

Run by Fili and Yaz, it serves the best coffee, not to mention homemade cakes! Girls are usually treated to a small bowl of dog biscuits and dogs are welcome inside and outside.

Who doesn’t want to walk the canal? Bradford-upon-Avon is probably one of the most dog-friendly cities in the area.

The gardens, rivers and canals offer plenty to explore. There is nothing I love more than a Sunday morning walk in the towpath. Pass by all the brightly colored boats and admire the slower pace of life enjoyed by their occupants.

If you are careful and not too busy, the dogs can stay away from the handler for many walks.

Dog Friendly Cafe And Tea Room Walks Lake District

There are plenty of dog friendly pubs in town and one of our favorites is Cross Guns in Avoncliffe. This bar is ideally located at the end of the towpath. It also has a beautiful garden where you can sit and watch the world go by.

There is a dog house in the center of town. No joke, this place is dog heaven on earth! Filled with dog supplies, this place has a salon and a cafe serving pupacino, a must-see if you’re in the area.

We often meet up with our lovely friends Melissa, Mitzi and Heidi from Somerset Sausage and are happy to spend an hour or three!

Over the Wiltshire border in Gloucestershire is Westonbert. Pops and I have spent many days here and it’s safe to say it’s one of our favorite places.

Dog Friendly Indoor Places Near You

Home to over 2,500 different species of trees from around the world, there are acres of forest and hiking trails to explore.

Westonbury has two forest areas: the Arboretum and the Silk Forest. Silkwood is good for dogs. Although well liked by dog owners, there is always somewhere to escape the crowd.

Pops doesn’t really like other dogs, so I stay away from other walkers when I can.

Although Westonbert is known for its magical display of autumn colours, it is beautiful all year round. It’s a great place to pack a picnic and enjoy the day. Or, if you prefer, enjoy a snack at the cafe after your walk. Soup can be recommended on a cold winter day to warm up the cocktail.

Great Dog Friendly Coffee Shops In Chicago

There are various walking trails you can take around the area. We park the car at the Fine Grain picnic area (off the A361 Devizes Road) and begin our walk.

It’s a bit off the beaten track so it’s mostly only known to locals. Therefore, it is our quiet walk.

The walk starts on a circular path which eventually leads to the Churchill Monument. However, we usually turn around and follow the path to the lowlands and nature reserve. The view from the top is simply stunning and you can see it for miles.

If I’m not in a rush, I usually spend a minute or two just sitting and taking in the view. Meanwhile, the girls will enjoy a drink while walking.

Dog Friendly Restaurants And Bars In St. Louis

I love accidents. There’s nothing like a good old walk in the Wiltshire countryside whatever the weather. Unfortunately, there are no restaurants on this hike

Some cafes allow dogs to stay outside. There is also the Lansdowne Arms Hotel which serves the best cream tea in the city centre!
