When it comes to traveling in Grand Teton and Yellowstone National Parks, a good rule of thumb is that your pet can go anywhere you can drive (trails, campsites, picnics) as long as they are on a leash. Favorite places to exercise your dog are Emily Pond on the Snake River and the south side of Westbank River Dam. These sites are located on both sides of the Snake River – with spectacular views of the Tetons – and are accessible from HWY 22 as you head towards Teton Village and Wilson. Cache Creek is a large network of trails not far from the Snow King base area and is one of the most popular dog walking spots for locals and visitors. There are places throughout the valley, including the Bridger Teton National Forest, that have established campgrounds and give your dog the freedom to roam. However, for the safety of your dog and passing wildlife, it is important that you keep your dog on your property and under control at all times.
