Dog Friendly Vacations Utah – You won’t find it on any national or state park lists, but Flaming Gorge is one of the most dog-friendly destinations in Utah filled with outdoor activities.

Flaming Gorge is designated a National Recreation Area and most of the surrounding area is a national forest, the Ashley National Forest. Dogs are welcome at both locations if they follow some rules. The basic rule is that dogs must be kept on a 6-foot leash and under the owner’s supervision at all times. Other than that, the rules are pretty much the same anywhere you take your dog – clean up after them and be responsible and respectful of the area and others who use it. No matter where you travel, always follow Leave No Trace rules.

Sheep Creek Campground is ideal if you want to be closer to the shores of Lake Manila. It is located in a stunning valley with poplar trees and lake access. You’ll also be adjacent to the Sheep Creek Geologic Loop, which is a scenic drive.

They have a full drinks menu and a selection of food and snacks every weekend. It is only open on Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Your dog can join you on the sidewalk as long as he is on a leash and well behaved.
